and we have 9.9 hp on the larger lakes. We supply life jackets for adults only.
If you are bringing your kids with you, you have to bring your own life jackets
that properly fit them and are either Canadian Coast Guard or US Coast Guard
approved. |

Canoeing
Pack up a lunch, jump in a canoe
and take a day trip into one of our area back lakes. After lunch continue down
into another lake. The Temagami provincial forest surrounding Angus lake makes
canoeing extremely pleasurable and relaxing. You'll most probably see a pair of
loons as you paddle down the lake. Journey through short portages to enjoy the
beauty of our world-famous canoe route. |

Paddle boats Younger
children really seem to like using the paddle boats, and because of the quiet
location of our beach, your children are safe to paddle the surrounding
waters. The paddle boats can be rented by the hour, day, or week.

|
Our beach Our sandy beach
is safe and clean. Just a short way out into the lake is a diving raft, where
children (and adults) can have a lot of fun. The shoreline cottages mean you
won't have far to walk if you forget your towel, or want to keep an eye on the
children. Why not also play some beach games such as horseshoes, badminton, or
croquet? |

 |
The fire pit A popular
gathering place at the end of the day is the fire pit, where you can just sit,
relax and talk into the night with other guests. At Ridgewood Cottages, this is
the place where many new friendships are made, and great stories are told. The
children enjoy roasting marshmallows over the hot coals. |
Store Our store can supply you
with tackle, t-shirts and sweats, some grocery items and munchies.
|
Barbecues All our cabins
are equipped with propane barbecues. Cottage life wouldn't be complete without
the aroma of food cooking on the barbecue. |

Canoeing Temagami and Marten
River Lakes
Isnt it time to treat
yourself, your family, or friends to a brand new adventure? Youre never
too young or old to take a guided canoe camping trip through Temagami's
beautiful canoe wilderness lakes. Abundant wildlife, breathtaking natural
beauty, cool sky and blue waters. |
 |
There is absolutely nothing that compares
to one of our back lake fishing trip shore lunches cooked over an open fire to
the person that loves the taste of fresh Temagami fish. However, many people
enjoy the excitement of catching fish, taking a photo or two, and then also the
pleasure of releasing their catch back into the water. The choice is yours!
Most Canada adventure fishing trips are unguided, but many people feel more
confident when they hire our Temagami guides, especially if this is a
first-time canoeing trip into the wilderness.
Enjoy a winner roast and roasted
marshmallows at the firepit.
Enjoy one of those delicious, memorable
shore lunches on one of the back lake.

Temagami is a cosy town, nearby, just 20
minutes drive north of Ridgewood Cottages. Here you'll find gift shops,
a selection of restaurants, and a grocery shops.
Allow time for a visit to the old
Temagami fire tower, high up on Caribou Mountain. Perched high up, 100
feet on top of a 400 foot hill, you'll get an excellent view of Temagami and
the surrounding forest. The steel fire tower first went up in the 1930s and was
climbed daily to protect Ontario's forests - but it was badly constructed, and
soon came down. A second tower was built in 1951 and was the centre piece of
nine towers in the Temagami district, all within sight of each other. After
months of restoration, a new tower was reopened on August 9th, 1998.

Come and spend a night or two at the
campground along the shores of Angus Lake. As you sit by your campfire, cooking
the catch of the day, you can watch beavers swim back and forth as the sun sets
in the west. Life doesn't get much better. We also have some sites tucked back
into the forest where you, the wildlife, and the trees share the night sky of
outdoor recreation. There is also limited camping on the shore where you can
enjoy watching the lake in it's fullest. |
