Ridgewood vacation cottage rentals are
located in Temagami, northern, Ontario. We have housekeeping cottages and
cabins for rent in Temagami,
available spring, summer, fall and winter. The rental cottages range from 1 to
4 bedrooms excellent for large groups, or families who would like more room.
Ridgewood vacation cottage resort offers a choice of large cottages by the day,
weekend or week in off season. During the summer months of July and August we
have weekly bookings only with competitive prices. The cottages have a
sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen and either 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms and are
equipped with hot showers, electric fridges, propane stoves for cooking,
propane furnaces, screened front porches. There is sufficient parking near each
cottage rental for a vehicle, cottages have their own BBQ, picnic table and
most cottages overlook the shores of scenic Angus Lake. Our vacation rentals are located
between Temagami and Marten River, Ontario off Hwy 11 north, just 45 minutes
north of North Bay Ontario and 15 min. south of the town of Temagami. See

boating, for ATVing and hikers, the back roads of Temagami will take you into a
wilderness adventure. Wildlife galore in their natural environment; grouse,

our guests.... all we ask is that you clean it up and dispose of the fish
remains in a designated area. We have a freezer for your catch of the day and
another freezer with ice that is at the resort store.

Four Seasons of fishing; Spring, Summer,
Fall and ice fishing in the winter time. Fishing for walleye, northern pike,
bass, and panfish local guides can help you find the best spots and use just
the right rig to "land that big one!" guides offer half day and full day
fishing adventures. Head out for a famous shore lunch into one of the Temagami
back lakes and create your own fish tales! Angus Lake is known for it's small
mouth bass, northern pike and pickerel (walleye). Early
spring fishing is great for pickerel
and pike. Fishing licenses and
bait of all kinds can be purchased within a few minutes of
the camp or in our store at the resort.

Spring
Fishing in Temagami and Marten River
Spring Fishing in Temagami; after a long,
cold winter, the excitement of getting your line wet is too much. It has been a
long, cold and snowy winter here in Temagami and Marten River, but the spring
fishing season is almost here and as the time for an anglers first spring
fishing trip becomes a reality, the fishing gear is getting ready to go. Never
during the season are more fish caught, early spring in our area is the
preferred time of the year for pickerel (walleye) fishing, and local pickerel
dinners are a big event. Pickerel up to 7 - 8 pounds are frequent, and have
been caught up to 10 pounds. Pickerel fishing is at it's best for the
inexperienced pickerel fisherman, the easiest way is
baiting your hook with a minnow on
a bobber, or try using any of the numerous types of jigs in various colors.
Boy! is it fun to land a Northern Pike on your light tackle while fishing for
pickerel. You can also catch pike, right from opening day, more Northern Pike
are caught than at any other time of the year. What else could be more fun than
sitting in a bay with large shiners and bobbers relaxing the day away and
catching a big Northern? Try using in line spinners, such as
Blue
Fox or Mepps #3
and #4, late in May. Later in the season, as the bait fish grow, switch to
larger lures such as spinner baits,
Johnson silver
spoons, or

Temagami has gotten much better thanks to the excellent efforts of the
Temagami Fish Hatchery in past years.
We do encourage
you to plan your spring fishing early this year. Our days are beginning to fill
very quickly.
Summer
Fishing in Temagami
Summer fishing in Temagami; you can fish
for those big Bass! Angus Lake along with hundreds of surrounding area lakes
and rivers in our area has a healthy Smallmouth Bass population with all sizes,
thanks again, to the Temagami Fish Hatchery. Last year, those hungry smallmouth
bass were lurking under deadheads, docks, and in weed beds, 3 to 5 pound bass
were biting more than in all the years since we have owned Ridgewood Vacation
Cottages. The last two hours of the evening, dusk, when most fishing buddies
have gone in for dinner, is the best time to get out all those favorite top
water lures. The shock of having a bass hit your favorite top water lure can
truly be one of the best parts of fishing and if a Northern Pike strikes up
through the weeds, look out! you might even land the Big Poppa of them all
– Angus Lakes Huge Monster Pike!

Fall
Fishing in Temagami
Fall Fishing in Temagami; the weather is
terrific, and the scenic, colorful foliage from the banks of Angus Lake, is
hard to beat. Yes, this is when some of the BIG ONES are landed, the pickerel,
bass & pike are hungry! All species from pan fish to game fish are active,
the lake has cooled down but, so has their natural feed. Most people come for
Pike but, there are more pickerel and bass caught in an hour during this time
of year than are caught in a day at other times of the year. Fishing around the
weed beds and deadheads and even off the dock, when it’s real quiet, can
produce endless fishing fun. In late September and October, on most days, you
could be the only boat on the lake. The good percentage of outdoorsy people
switch to hunting, they have given up the best fishing of the season. You may
have to wear extra layers of clothes, but it's worth it!
Angus Lake fishing in Temagami can be
challenging, but even if you don't catch a fish, just being on the water is a
great way to spend your day, relaxed and enjoying nature at it’s most
striking. Although we all enjoy a fish fry now and then, please help us
